What MySolarCheck is
MySolarCheck is an independent data and editorial project for exploring US residential solar installation records, observed costs and practical solar questions. It turns large public datasets into searchable state and county summaries without pretending that the source data covers every installation or every state.
Observed records vs. estimates
Installation counts, reported capacity and historical installed prices come from the LBNL Tracking the Sun release. Electricity prices, population and solar-resource context come from public reference datasets. Production, annual savings, payback and editorial summaries are MySolarCheck calculations and are labeled as estimates.
What the site cannot tell you
A public-data average cannot replace a roof assessment, current installer quote, utility tariff review or tax advice. Coverage varies by jurisdiction and year. Incentives, equipment specifications and market prices can change after publication, so important decisions should always be checked against the primary source.
Independent and source-first
MySolarCheck is not affiliated with a government agency, utility, installer or equipment manufacturer. We link to source methodology, identify dataset dates and withhold low-sample county pages instead of presenting fragile averages as precise facts.
